Burn Bright – After nearly burning out.

Burn Bright – After nearly burning out.

Why my mission is to support corporate staff.

For over three years, I worked with Microsoft, teaching yoga and wellness sessions to their employees. I loved everything about it — the energy of the campus, the incredible buildings, the buzz of ambitious people, and the sense that big things were always happening.

So much so that I thought to myself: maybe I should be here full-time.

The salaries were impressive, the opportunities exciting, and I loved the idea of being part of the fast-moving world of tech. Eventually, I decided to leave self-employment and take a role in tech sales.

The Dream vs. The Reality

I had pictured myself sitting in those high-level meetings I used to walk past, contributing to big conversations, and being part of the driving force of a global company.

And then — it happened.

Suddenly, I was sitting in a room with 16 men, discussing technology I didn’t fully understand, feeling the constant pressure to keep up. I went from moving, teaching, and coaching… to sitting all day in back-to-back meetings and chasing deadlines.

I became close to my teammates, but deep down I realised: this world didn’t fully align with my values.

Yes, the money was great. Yes, the opportunities were huge. But the reality was clear: you needed enormous resilience, strength, and self-belief to thrive in that environment — especially knowing job cuts could come at any moment.

The Positive Lessons

Even though it wasn’t my forever path, I’m grateful for that chapter because it taught me lessons I now bring back into my work in wellness:

Resilience is everything. High-paying jobs don’t protect you from stress. It’s your mindset and wellbeing practices that keep you steady.

Environment matters. Sitting all day drained me in a way I’d never experienced before. I understood firsthand why employees crave movement, balance, and space to breathe.

Values alignment is key. You can chase money and status, but if the work doesn’t align with your deeper values, it will always feel heavy.

Self-esteem is non-negotiable. In a high-pressure environment, you need to believe in yourself — not just for career survival, but for your health and happiness.

Coming Full Circle

That experience in tech sales gave me something invaluable: a deeper empathy and understanding for the people I now coach and teach inside these companies.

I’ve lived their reality. I know the long meetings, the pressure of deadlines, and the uncertainty of job cuts. I also know that behind the impressive titles and salaries, people are human — and humans need wellbeing strategies to thrive.

It’s why my philosophy is this:

Wellness isn’t a perk. It’s a performance strategy.

When employees are supported to look after their wellbeing, they’re not only healthier and happier — they’re also more focused, creative, and resilient when challenges come.

Final Thought

My journey into tech sales showed me both sides of the coin — the excitement and opportunity, and also the pressure and demands.

I’m glad I experienced it, because it reinforced my mission: to help people in high-pressure environments look after their wellbeing, so they can perform at their best without burning out.

Because at the end of the day, success isn’t just about the job you have or the money you make. It’s about how strong, resilient, and fulfilled you feel while living it.
